The Director of Creative Services will manage and mentor a talented creative team while ensuring an effective production process including concept development, task assignments scheduling, approval and delivery. They will oversee all creative projects and the visual identity for Southern Utah University. Projects will include developing marketing materials, updating the website, creating new visual campaigns, assisting with video and photography (when needed), maintaining and protecting the brand, and enforcing brand style guide and logo usage across campus. The Creative Director will work closely with several campus departments including the President's Office, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Admissions, Alumni, Graduate & Online, and Advancement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise university designer, photographer and videographer
Lead the visual staff in developing creative and innovative concepts for print, digital, photography, and multimedia deliverables
Mentor, lead, and challenge all team members to push their creative boundaries. As a working manager, must be able to roll up sleeves and assist on any project to ensure successful outcomes
Manage design, photography & videography projects from concept development through approval and distribution
Develop marketing materials, which include but are not limited to: web design, brochures, booklets, print advertisements, billboards, magazines, postcards, etc
Oversee, maintain and protect the University's brand identity system and ensure campus-wide adherence to the style guide
Help the University community to better understand the visual identity of the university, what centralized creative resources are available to them, and how to use the university's brand correctly in their work
Maintain effective relationships with vendors to facilitate smooth production of projects and adherence to University visual identity standards
Serve as a liaison to the University community, advising on creative projects, assessing, accepting and assigning projects to the creative team
Manage creative budget
Stay up-to-date on current communication and marketing trends in higher education and utilize best practices to keep the University's materials current
