Job Summary 

The Director of Campus Banking & Reconciliation reports to the Controller and is an integral member of the Fiscal Operations team for the Boston Campus. The Director is responsible for the oversight and strategic management and of the Boston Campus treasury and cash operations; overseeing the University's commercial bank reconciliation and relationships, cash management procedures, dynamic receipt and disbursement services, treasury IT systems, PCI-DSS compliance and ecommerce platforms, monthly reconciliations for select accounts, daily cash positioning and forecasting and general ledger posting. The position works closely with campus departments, Bursar, banking partners and vendors to support the University's treasury/cash management daily needs.

 

Essential Functions 

  • Supervise, train, and lead the staff responsible for the daily operations of the banking & cash management unit. 
  • Oversee all banking services and account reconciliation for all revenue/receipts policies and procedures for the campus. 
  • Author, manage and communicate deposit processes for Accounts Receivable payments to campus partners. 
  • Develop accounting reconciliation procedures to manage unclassified funds. 
  • Provide oversight for all campus funds (e.g. Advance Funds, teller reserve funds and Imprest checking account). 
  • Maintain cash management procedures to meet internal control requirements for operations. Reconcile all transactions for student accounts and campus receipts between teller system, billing system and general ledger. Also reconcile cash account to Treasurer's Office totals on a daily basis and prepare the monthly bank statement reconciliation. 
  • Reviews and procures contracts related to credit card processing and monitoring compliance, such as penetration testing, annual Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs), quarterly scanning and Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs). Responsible for overseeing PCI concerns, actively playing a part in remediation efforts as needed. 
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight on technology supporting banking & cash management operations including support for all payment channel management for campus. 
  • Oversee the Ecommerce Vendor System and Maintain Vendor Relationship 

 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM, business, accounting or economics field required.  
  • 5-7 years of experience in higher education finance, corporate or municipal finance, treasury management, and/or accounting. Campus Treasury Services September 2023 06 K Fluency in using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), treasury management system and Oracle systems.
