The Social Media Video Specialist actively assists in developing content for the University's primary social media channels and assists in the implementation of its social and digital strategy. The position will help in managing, protecting and promoting Tulane's reputation and image across social media platforms, in coordination with other University Communications & Marketing teams, as well as assisting other University departments with their social and digital media needs. The Social Media Video Specialist is a member of the videography team, and is responsible for concepting, filming, and editing original video content for all marketing efforts. In conjunction with the Associate Director, Marketing and Digital Content, this position will be responsible for creating and producing digital and online content for university communications and marketing, including video communication pieces for social and digital platforms. The Social Media Video Specialist will shoot footage, edit, and produce video content specifically conceptualized for social media channels. They will be responsible for all creative and technical tasks related to production and post-production. The Social Media Video Specialist will transport, set up, and operate equipment; assist with staging and talent releases. This role must have knowledge of content specifications for various social media platforms, and have experience writing copy, live social video broadcasts, and turning around social videos for publication quickly. He/she must be abreast of industry trends and create video messaging that helps tell the Tulane story and elevate the Tulane brand. The position will also assist in web content and maintenance and make recommendations for policy and strategy adoption across all online platforms.
