Assists in developing and leading special events and internal and external community engagement efforts for the College of College of Science as a member of the Marketing and Communications team. The position will collaborate with the development team in the execution of alumni events and engagement strategy.

Coordinate, host, and assist with multiple major events annually (i.e., award ceremonies, conferences, banquets, community events, commencement, etc.) for the college and support departmental initiatives. Responsible for securing space and equipment; independently coordinate terms and prices with vendors; managing budgets; directing and coordinating technical and production aspects; and making final decisions regarding event set-up, design, decor and the overall attendee experience. Serve as the lead college representative for UTA Commencement ceremonies.

Manage the college’s calendar of events, including coordinating with departments. Directly and indirectly support the awareness of events through social media and email platforms. Recommends and contributes to the implementation of strategies for internal and external community outreach, with the goal of cultivating existing alumni and community relationships and developing new relationships. Help coordinate and contribute to collaboration between COS departments for events and outreach.

Work collaboratively with the development team to assist in the coordination and execution of the College’s alumni relations efforts to increase participation and opportunities that cultivate relationships.

May serve on various committees. Meet regularly with the COS Advancement team.

Other duties as assigned.
